Trillium grandiflorum, Large-flowered Trillium

Trillium, an ephemeral plant of high-quality, rich woodlands.

Large-flowered Trillium is one of the handful of Trillium species in Minnesota found in the southeastern, eastern and northern county woodlands. As an ephemeral species of woodlands, Trillium receives some sun as the trees leaf out, but then benefits from shade, cooler soil, and moisture of the woods as the season heats up. T. grandiflorum is a full-dappled shade ephemeral and not suited to anything less.

Shelterwood has T. grandiflorum in propagation beds and may have a handful available -please inquire in late March to early April. There is a limit of one Trillium per customer.
