What separates Long-headed Thimbleweed from Tall Thimbleweed? What's in a name? Tall Thimbleweed can be double the height of Long-headed when in flower. Long-headed Thimbleweed has a 50% longer head -maybe an 1.5 inches versus Tall Thimblehead's 1 inch. Does all this have you scratching your head? Which Thimbleweed is for me?
Long-headed is not only shorter, it is a better candidate for part sun or even sunny areas, for instance, at the edge of woods or in your pt sun garden.
