It is self-sustaining and will seed itself readily, so ensure that it is planted within a community of plants and it will serve you well. Grows well with Blue Wood Aster, Virginia Wetleaf, Sweet Joe Pye Weed, Woodland Sunflower, Blue Lobelia, Long-beaked Sedge, Clematis virginiana, among others.

Conditions: shade to pt shade, medium to medium-dry soils
