Camassia scilloides, Wild Hyacinth


Wild Hyacinth, sometimes known as Camas Lily, is not native to any Minnesota county, but is native to the eastern portion of Iowa and nearly all of Illinois, and maybe a wee bit of Wisconsin. Despite its non-native status, here, it can be an interesting and attractive near-native plant to grow in your flower garden. So far this plant has been under performing for me, so I am likely to take it out of production.

Blooms: pale blue-lavender white, May into June

Height: 12 to 24 inches

Conditions: sun to pt shade, moist-medium to medium soils, ephemeral
