If you are looking for a clear yellow coneflower that won't tower over your other prairie plants, or lean from the weight of its flowers, Long-headed is the coneflower for you. Perfect for a short-medium height prairie, paired with Narrow-leaved Coneflower, Little Bluestem, Side Oats Grama, Liatris aspera, Butterflyweed, and more. This one is native to several counties southwest, west, and northwest of Minnesota's Interstate 94, including Hennepin and Ramsey counties.

Blooms: yellow, June to August

Height: 2.5-3 feet

Conditions: full sun, dry to medium-dry soils
