Thalictrum dasycarpum, Tall Meadow Rue


Tall Meadow Rue, as its name suggests, is the largest and most common Thalictrum species in Minnesota. You can find it in a variety of moist niches, from woodland edges, to ditches, to lakesides, to wetland edges. Its delicate looking foliage is quite similar to that of its woodland cousin, Early Meadow Rue, a plant that prefers shade and drier soil than Tall Meadow Rue.

Bloom: creamy white, June into July

Height: 3-7 feet

Conditions: sun to part shade, moist to moist-medium, woods edge, rain gardens or lakeside.
