Viola labradorica, Dog Violet
Before I positively identified this diminutive violet as Dog Violet, I called it by its most distinguishing feature -mini violet. It is a charmer. Blooming in mid-spring, it's pale periwinkle flowers grace moister soil in part shade or sun.
Blooms: pale lavender with white, May to June
Height: 1 to 6 inches
Conditions: pt sun to pt shade, moist-medium to medium soil
