Coreopsis palmata, Prairie Coreopsis

 Pictures to come!

Prairie Coreopsis! Many wonder why this is not as common as Lanceleaf Coreopsis, Coreopsis lanceolata, whose native range is much shallower than C. palmata. My guess? Probably much easier to germinate Lanceleaf from seed. Fortunately, for the gardener who brings home potted Prairie Coreopsis, if sited well it will spread via rhizome. You can then divide it as needed. Make sure to give it a little room to get established, but then allow prairie companions to offer some competition.
