Viola sororia, Pale Blue-Lavender Violet

This Violet has a periwinkle color, somewhat blue, somewhat lavender, somewhat cool, somewhat warm. It's leaves are a brighter green than the Common Violet. It's throat is modestly hairy with dark purple veins. I find this one growing in our sunnier areas, including the prairie-savanna garden, blooming before the prairie grasses get going.

Blooms: pale blue-purple, April to June
Height: 3 to 8 inches
Conditions: pt sun to pt shade, moist-medium to medium soil
