Viola sororia, Pale Blue-Lavender Violet

This Violet has a periwinkle color, somewhat blue, somewhat lavender, somewhat cool, somewhat warm. It's leaves are a brighter green than the Common Violet with common blue-violet flowers. It's throat is modestly hairy with dark purple veins. I find this one growing more commonly in our sunnier areas, including the prairie-savanna garden.

Blooms: pale blue-purple, April to June, sporadically there after

Height: 3 to 8 inches

Conditions: sun to shade, moist-medium to medium soils
